CEO Satya Nadella announced that Microsoft will integrate OpenAI’s custom AI chip designs into its semiconductor roadmap, marking a major shift in the global artificial intelligence race that’s increasingly being fought at the silicon level.
Under this strengthened partnership, Microsoft will have direct access to OpenAI’s hardware research and chip-level innovations through 2030.
