Seattle-based startup Yoodli, founded by former Google and Apple engineers, has reached a valuation of over $300 million — more than triple its figure just six months ago. The milestone reflects investor confidence in Yoodli’s refreshing approach to artificial intelligence: building tools that enhance human communication rather than replace people with machines.

The valuation surge follows a successful $40 million Series B funding round, led by WestBridge Capital with participation from Neotribe and Madrona Venture Group. This follows Yoodli’s $13.7 million Series A funding announced in May, bringing total raised capital to nearly $60 million in less than two years — an impressive trajectory for a young AI startup.

Yoodli’s platform uses AI to simulate real-world communication scenarios such as interviews, sales calls, feedback sessions, and leadership coaching. By engaging in interactive role-plays, users receive instant, structured feedback on clarity, tone, and delivery. This human-centered approach appeals to professionals and organizations seeking skill development without the fear of automation taking over.

Co-founder Varun Puri, who previously contributed to Google’s X division under Sergey Brin, launched Yoodli alongside former Apple engineer Esha Joshi in 2021. Puri’s diverse background and own experience as an immigrant from India inspired the company’s mission to help people communicate more confidently, regardless of language, culture, or professional setting.

Initially built to help users master public speaking, Yoodli quickly gained traction for broader use cases. Today, it has evolved into a comprehensive communication training suite for enterprises, offering personalized AI-driven simulations for team enablement, performance management, and partner certification across industries where effective communication directly drives business growth.

According to Puri, traditional corporate training methods are outdated. Companies once relied on lengthy, static videos that users rushed through without internalizing lessons. Yoodli reimagines that process by providing engaging, repeatable, and data-backed practice that helps professionals actually improve their communication instead of just consuming content passively.

Major corporations such as Google, Snowflake, Databricks, RingCentral, and Sandler Sales already use Yoodli for employee and partner training. The startup’s platform is also being integrated into coaching organizations like Franklin Covey and LHH, enabling them to customize the AI’s framework to mirror their unique teaching methodologies and performance metrics.

Unlike some generative AI tools that aim to automate jobs, Yoodli emphasizes keeping humans in the loop. Puri stresses that the company’s vision is not to replace coaches or trainers but to augment their capabilities. The software provides measurable insights, while human experts contextualize feedback and tailor learning for individual growth.

Yoodli’s rise comes amid widespread concern about AI-driven job displacement. Its focus on empowerment offers a refreshing narrative in the tech landscape — one where AI serves people rather than competes with them. The company’s success underscores a growing demand for ethical, human-enhancing applications of artificial intelligence in professional development.

With communication emerging as a top soft skill in workplaces reshaped by remote and hybrid models, Yoodli’s timing appears ideal. As enterprises prioritize adaptability, empathy, and clarity, the startup’s AI-powered learning platform looks set to redefine how professionals practice, perform, and progress in an increasingly digital-first world.
