Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold takes the foldable concept further by using three panels that unfold twice into an expansive 10‑inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, effectively turning the phone into a tablet on demand. When folded, the device behaves like a regular smartphone with a dedicated 6.5‑inch cover screen, retaining everyday usability and pocketability.

The company positions the TriFold as a showcase of its foldable engineering, with a slim chassis measuring as little as 3.9 mm at its thinnest point when fully unfolded. Dual titanium hinges protect the inner screen when closed while enabling the two-step unfolding motion that differentiates it from traditional single-hinge foldables.

Performance, AI and Multitasking

Inside, the Galaxy Z TriFold is powered by a customized Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, targeting flagship-level performance for multitasking and AI workloads. Samsung highlights the device as part of its “mobile AI era” strategy, using the large internal canvas for AI-powered productivity, creativity apps and advanced multitasking layouts.

The three-panel design allows users to run up to three apps side by side in a desktop-like layout, making it particularly suited for productivity tasks such as document editing, chat, and media consumption at the same time. The TriFold also integrates Samsung’s One UI 8 on top of Android 16, optimized with new layouts and gestures tailored for dual-hinge folding and rapid transitions between phone and tablet modes.

Camera, Battery and Pricing

On the back, the Galaxy Z TriFold features a 200 MP primary wide camera, alongside a 10 MP 3x telephoto and 12 MP ultra-wide lens, supporting up to 8K video recording, while a 10 MP cover camera handles selfies. This setup is designed to deliver flagship imaging while taking advantage of the device’s flexible form, including the ability to use the main cameras for selfies when partially folded.

Powering the complex form factor is a 5,600 mAh battery, the largest in Samsung’s foldable lineup, with 45 W wired fast charging, 15 W wireless charging and reverse wireless support. In South Korea, the Galaxy Z TriFold is priced at around 3.59 million won (about 2,440 USD), reflecting its ultra-premium positioning and limited early availability.
